Trader Motorboat Insurance

Based from Emsworth, Trader and its shipyard was known for its long tradition of building yachts.

The Trader brand was set up in the 1970’s as part of the famous Tarquin Boat Company. Since its launch, more than 500 yachts under the Trader name have been produced.  The company was wound up in 2020, but many Trader Motorboats are still on the water around the U.K.

Production of Trader Motorboats was moved to Taiwan and China after many years having been built in on the South coast before ceasing business.  The vessels were designed to be robust and sturdy, capable of sailing in tough conditions with maximum crew and guest comfort.  The range included models from 12 to 24 metres long, with composite displacement hulls and luxury interiors.

If you are a Trader Motorboat owner or looking to purchase a used model, make sure to talk to the Stoneways boat insurance team about a Trader boat insurance quote to make sure it is suitably protected with a competitive insurance policy.

The Trader range included models ranging from 12 to 24 metres long.  The most recent models in the shipyard’s portfolio are the Trader 38 Sprit and the flybridge-planing yacht Trader 42 Signature. At the top of the range is the Trader Superyacht, an explorer yacht with an impressive range of 1800 nautical miles for long distance cruising.
