The countdown is on to the 2025 Stoneways VPRS National Championships, set to take place over the weekend of 19–20 July on the iconic waters of the Solent. Hosted by the esteemed Royal Southern Yacht Club, this year’s event promises exceptional racing and vibrant shoreside hospitality.
Following the successful integration of VPRS rating in the 2024 X-Yachts Solent Cup, the Royal Southern Yacht Club brings its renowned race management and hospitality expertise to the 2025 Nationals.
The event offers an outstanding opportunity for VPRS-rated yachts to compete in a professionally run regatta at one of the UK’s premier sailing venues.
Whether you’re a seasoned VPRS competitor or new to the rating system, this is a must-attend event on the 2025 sailing calendar.

Race Format & Social Highlights
The weekend schedule features:
- Three inshore races on Saturday, 19 July
- One extended distance race on Sunday, 20 July, carrying double points—guaranteeing added intensity and strategic racing.
Saturday evening sees competitors gather for the VPRS Sailors Supper, hosted at the Royal Southern’s club house in Hamble. This relaxed evening offers a perfect opportunity for crews to socialise and exchange stories from the day’s racing.

The 2025 Championships are proudly supported by Stoneways Marine, joined this year by Matt Adkins of Glass Relief as co-sponsor for the event prizes. The prize-giving ceremony will take place Sunday afternoon, allowing visiting crews ample time to return to their home berths.
